Ingredients

Yam & Protein:

  • Fresh Chinese Yam 淮山, 30g chopped finely

  • Minced meat of choice 100g

  • Spring Onion, 2 stalks, chopped

  • Ginger, 4-5 slices

  • Cornstarch, 1 tbsp

  • Water

Seasoning:

  • Soy sauce, 1-2 tbsp

  • Salt, 1/4 tsp

  • Sugar 1 tsp

  • Chicken powder, 1tsp, optional

Method

1.  Add a touch of salt, soy sauce, sugar, chicken powder to your meat. 

2. Mix your chopped yam with your meat. Mix in chopped spring onions, then add cornstarch and mix well. It should not be too watery.

3. In a shallow steaming plate, add a bit of water and soy sauce with a couple ginger slices. This will form the “soup base”.

4. Form your meat into balls, and place them into your steaming plate.

5. Steam for 4-5 minutes, depending on the size of your balls.

6. That’s it! Add extra spring onion for garnish & taste to your liking. ENJOY
