Is the Multi-Active Treatment Essence suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes — the entire BEDA range was designed with sensitive, reactive skin in mind. We thoughtfully formulate with modern actives and TCM extracts for acne-prone and sensitive skin.
Multi-Active Treatment Essence (MATE) contains 1.5% Salicylic Acid (BHA) balanced with soothing, barrier-supportive ingredients. As everyone’s skin is different, we recommend patch testing first.
Will the Multi-Active Treatment Essence cause purging, breakouts, or irritation?
Some users experience a brief adjustment period in the first 1–3 weeks when introducing BHA, as it accelerates the clearing of congestion already beneath the skin's surface.
This is different from a breakout caused by irritation — purging typically occurs in areas where you are already prone to congestion and resolves on its own.
To minimise the chance of a strong reaction, you can start by using the essence once every other day and build up gradually. Always patch test first, and if you experience persistent irritation or redness, discontinue use immediately.
Can I use the Multi-Active Treatment Essence with other skincare products?
If there are other actives in your routine, we recommend alternating routines to avoid layering too many concentrated actives together. For example:
Morning: Vit C + Moisturiser + SPF
Evening: MATE + Moisturiser
or
Morning: BEDA + Moisturiser + SPF
Evening: Retinol + Moisturser
Our products are designed to simplify routines and minimise excessive use of actives. However, everyone's skin is unique so it's truly up to your skin and what it can handle.
Can I use the Multi-Active Treatment Essence with a toner?
Yes. Apply your toner first, then MATE. A gentle, hydrating toner works best.
As MATE already contains salicylic acid, avoid toners with exfoliating acids (such as AHAs, BHAs or PHAs), retinol or a high alcohol content, as layering them can over-exfoliate and irritate your skin.
Can I use it while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Yes. BEDA is pregnancy and breastfeeding-friendly.
MATE contains a low concentration of Salicylic Acid (BHA) at 1.5%, which is considered safe under most guidelines.
We have many new mums in our community see great results, especially for acne, uneven skin tone and barrier support during breast-feeding & post-partum. As always, you can always check in with your doctor before use, as individual sensitivities can change during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
How long does it take to see results from the Multi-Active Treatment Essence?
Most people experience softer, brighter skin within the first few uses — the formula gets to work immediately on texture and hydration.
The deeper, more transformative results — clearer pores, visibly faded post-acne marks, reduced breakouts, and a more even complexion — come with consistent daily use over a full skin cycle, which takes 4 to 8 weeks.

Chance upon Bedaskin on Instagram. Read many positive reviews about MATE. Like that it includes TCM into the tiny bottle & reduce so many steps for skincare routine for day and night. Decided to purchase it to try. Initially, my skin purge a little but the tiny white bumps cleared up next few days with continuous usage. I bought this product thinking it could solve my occasional breakouts and the reviews look amazing. Well, it is indeed too good to be true. I kept breaking out after using this product (only new product added to my routine and keeping things minimal as recommended) – I thought it’s just purging and that it would go away but nope. It never did. It just keeps getting worse and worse and I can safely say that it has destroyed my face and self-confidence. Biggest skincare regret of my life – overpriced and overhyped.

Hi! Just wanted to share my review with Bedaskin. I tend to have breakouts during my periods and things definitely worsened during COVID due to mask wearing. I have been trying Bedaskin for probably 1 year and though my skin is still far from perfect, it has definitely improved with monthly breakouts that are better managed. Love Beda's texture which goes on luxurious and velvety yet light, and then it goes on to be absorbed well into my skin without leaving any oily residue. This essence is amazing. I used it religiously right after giving birth to my daughter and within weeks my skin was really soft and hydrated… in case you didn’t know, your skin gets sooooo dry postpartum! This serum is the ONLY thing that works for me on pimples without head or early stages pimples. Since using Beda multi active treatment essence, I noticed the stubborn bumps have gone away, whiteheads reduced. Reddish skin since young has also significantly neutralized. I’m much more confident now when not wearing makeup. When wearing makeup, the skin underneath is now a much healthier canvas and I need minimal makeup to look my best. My skin is always dry, dull and blemish prone. Thankful for a friend's recommendation to beda skin, the skin is now much brighter, softer, really very happy to know even at 40s the skin can improve! Easily absorbed!
