What skin types or concerns is the Multi-Active Treatment Essence (MATE) suitable for? Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes — the entire BEDA range was designed with sensitive, reactive skin in mind.
We thoughtfully formulate with modern actives and TCM extracts for acne-prone and sensitive skin. MATE contains 1.5% Salicylic Acid (BHA) balanced with soothing, barrier-supportive ingredients.
As always, everyone’s skin is different, so we recommend patch testing first.
Will the Multi-Active Treatment Essence cause purging, breakouts, or irritation?
Some users experience a brief adjustment period in the first 1–3 weeks when introducing BHA, as it accelerates the clearing of congestion already beneath the skin's surface. This is different from a breakout caused by irritation — purging typically occurs in areas where you are already prone to congestion and resolves on its own. To minimise the chance of a strong reaction, you can start by using the essence once daily (rather than morning and night) and build up gradually. Always patch test first, and if you experience persistent irritation or redness, discontinue use immediately.
Can I use the Multi-Active Treatment Essence with other skincare products?
If there are other actives in your routine, we recommend alternating routines to avoid layering too many concentrated actives together. For example:
Morning: Vit C + Moisturiser + SPF
Evening: BEDA + Moisturiser
or
Morning: BEDA + Moisturiser + SPF
Evening: Retinol + Moisturser
Our products are designed to simplify routines and minimise excessive use of actives. However, everyone's skin is unique so it's truly up to your skin and what it can handle.
Can I use it while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Yes — BEDA's products are pregnancy & breastfeeding-friendly.
MATE contains a low concentration of Salicylic Acid (BHA) at 1.5%, which is considered safe under most guidelines.
We have many new mums in our community see great results, especially for acne, uneven skin tone and barrier support during breast-feeding & post-partum.
As always, you can always check in with your doctor before use, as individual sensitivities can change during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
How long does it take to see results from the Multi-Active Treatment Essence?
Most people experience softer, brighter skin within the first few uses — the formula gets to work immediately on texture and hydration. The deeper, more transformative results — clearer pores, visibly faded post-acne marks, reduced breakouts, and a more even complexion — come with consistent daily use over a full skin cycle, which takes 4 to 8 weeks. This is simply how skin works: it renews itself from the inside out, and MATE works with that natural rhythm rather than forcing a quick surface fix.
