Hey friends & lovers,
Welcome to Week 3 of the Ramadan Skin Food Series! Today we're making one of my favourite teas — Moroccan Mint Tea with saffron and honey. Hydration is key, especially during Ramadan where we’re not eating or drinking water during the day, so I’ve been all about making delicious teas on top of just plain water to keep my hydration up.
Morocco is known for its timeless beauty rituals, and this tea is no exception. Not only does it taste incredible, but it's also filled with skin-loving ingredients—an ideal addition to your beauty routine especially as we count down for Raya/Eid.

Recipe
- 4 cups hot water
- 1 tbsp Gunpowder green tea (anti-oxidant & anti-inflammatory)
- A small pinch of saffron strands (boosts skin radiance & circulation)
- 1 cup of fresh mint leaves (soothes digestion & refreshes skin)
- 4 tbsp of raw honey (locks in moisture & fights inflammation)
Method
Add your gun powder green tea into your teapot.
Pour 1/4 cup of boiling water over the tea, swirl for a few seconds, then pour in a small cup and keep for later. This is your concentrate or "spirit" which you'll add back into the final drink.
- Pour about 1/2 cup of boiling water over the tea, swirl for a few seconds to clean the leaves, then discard the water.
- Pour 3-4 cups of boiling water over the rinsed tea leaves.
- Let it steep for about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the fresh mint leaves and honey directly into the teapot.
- Stir or gently shake the teapot to mix.
- Add a small amount of your "spirit" back into the final mix. The more you add, the stronger and more bitter the tea will be.
- Pour the tea into a glass from a height (about 12 inches) to create foam, then pour it back into the teapot.
- Repeat this process 2-3 times to blend the flavors.
- Garnish with additional mint leaves if desired.
