Last Saturday, we held our first ever physical book club hang, in collaboration with Butter Tgt.
Tucked into a quiet corner of town, the café was the place to be for book lovers. With the rich aroma of our freshly brewed limited edition Christmas latte, our TCM Book Club Cookies, soft chatter on our favourite books and friendship in the air as we pin hand-written notes to our friends.
It was such a cozy, soft and sweet way to get to know members of the community better and meet new people.

Setting the scene, the café’s minimalistic style added to it's charm, with it's large windows and warm mood lighting, making it the perfect venue for our intimate book club hang.
The event started with everyone's excitement buzzing in the air. People gathered with their books in one hand, and our special edition Christmas latte in the other. We delved into our favourite books' themes, characters, and participated in a book swap, sharing laughs and meaningful moments. It was a reminder of how stories and reading helps bring us unknown friends.
My Brilliant Friend - Elena Ferrante
Along with our book swapping event, this hangout was centred around Beda Book Club's Winter Read - My Brilliant Friend by Elena Ferrante. Set in Naples, the book encapsulates and captures the complexities of female friendship and the profound impact of environment and circumstances on personal growth.
We'll be having our usual trivia quiz night for My Brilliant Friend by Elena Ferrante and will be sharing the prize list and official date in the near future.
Girls, Girls, Girls
Much like in our winter book, there truly is something special about the bonds made in female friendships. There really is nothing like it.
When it comes to picturing love, we used to think that love came in such a traditional form, but over the years we've come to realise that the the best kind of love is the one that allows you to be fully yourself, allowing space for you to grow without jealousy.
And you can't beat female friendships for that. That's why these community events are so special. It allows us to come together and really connect, building these authentic friendships that help us grow.

A Note To A Friend
There's so much intimacy in a handwritten note. We asked you girls to write a cute message to someone you care about, and pin in to our bulletin board. By participating you also get $2 off your drink order. When was the last time you wrote to someone telling them how much you appreciate them? Or maybe how much they have impacted your life in ways they don't even realise?
Being that vulnerable can be veryintimidating, but it's really great to practice embracing your softness, which is what Beda is all about.
Looking Ahead
It really was the perfect final community event for 2024. This year has been crazy (in all the best ways), full of so much growth for not only Beda but also in our individual, personal journeys.
