In case you didn't already know, our NBB Boxers has been everybody's favourite shorts recently, especially for Beda Girl Summer.
At Bedaskin, we are all about being intentional, prioritising comfort and quality, and the process of making our NBB boxers was definitely a memorable one. She’s cute, soft and goes with absolutely everything so here is an in-depth look on how it's made.

Rachel being someone who’s always loved the look of “underwear as outerwear”, (influenced by the Beckhams growing up in the 90s/2000s), wanted to create cute boxers for the community and knew PBK would be the perfect partner for this fun project. Not only because they are experts in lingerie, but Rachel has actually been Kate’s customer for over 10 years. It was only until 2023 did they actually connect and became friends.
It was so special to see how enthusiastic and committed everyone was to making the best boxers possible, and within 2.5 months, the NBB boxers came to life.
The Concept
Rachel’s been wearing her CK boxers out since 2009. We wanted to create our own version of cute boxers that can be worn both at home and out and about. It was important to ensure that what we created is something that is easy to style with and comfortable enough for everyone to feel confident in.
This classic design is centered around men’s style boxers, made from cotton poplin fabric, with a grey, black, and white elastic band. We knew that the boxers we wanted to come to life needs to have that classic vibe with our own soft, signature Beda look paired with the gauranteed comfort and quality that PBK is known for.
Boxer Fabric & Colour
Cotton poplin fabric was chosen because it's such a breathable fabric that is perfect for our warm and humid weather. It's lightweight but also durable and is soft to the touch. Inspired by our values of embracing your softness, this fabric is smooth and embodies that.
A big plus is that it is also eco-friendly especially in comparison to other synthetic textiles. Cotton poplin is a natural fibre and is biodegradable.
We knew we wanted the boxers to be a netural blue that wasn’t too warm or too cool toned, so that it would not only be easy to style but also be flattering on a variety of skin tones and skin undertones. We know the importance of colour analysis!
There were plenty of shades to choose from, we sampled on all the circled ones in the image above, and finalised on 59! A lovely light neutral blue that paired well with white & grey tones.
Band Design
This surprisingly took the longest time! After finalising our tagline “Never Been Better” , it actually took a couple weeks of back and forth sampling and another couple of weeks for bulk production.
Logo Placements
We made very sure the bands for every size (XS - XL) wouldn’t have overlapping logos on the back seam.
Inclusivity and comfort was in the forefront of all our decision making and sampling process so that anyone who wore our NBB boxers felt considered, confident and comfortable.
Although this did require a bit of tricky manoeuvring, it was all worth it because we definitely weren’t going to let our community wear something that didn’t look well made.
First Fitting
This was our first sample!
The colour looked right and the smooth cotton fabric felt great but it still wasn't perfect as first round of samples usually aren't.
We felt that the band was a little tight so we agreed to increase the band size by just a little to make sure that it would be a comfortable fit for everyone.
The band is our most important feature, and we had to make sure it was perfect.
Here's Rachel attempting to stretch the initial samples on her chair to see if the band would feel better if they were slightly looser.
Band elasticity is tricky to get perfect. You don’t want it too tight on the waist, but you don’t want it gaping as well. It’s got to be just right.
Matching Scrunchies & Final Details
Our scrunchies are made from the same cotton poplin fabric to match.
After receiving our first round of samples we realised that it was a bit too big, so we sized it down for a better grip that is suitable for thicker hair types too.
Our final detail were the labels and pockets. That’s right our boxers have pockets too!
We placed the co-branded label subtly right by the pocket, a cute mark commemorating our collaboration.
